Reaction Rush — Reaction Time Test

HOW TO PLAY

  1. Tap or click anywhere — or press the spacebar — to start a round.
  2. Wait while the screen is red; it turns green after a random delay.
  3. The instant it turns green, tap as fast as you can.
  4. Tap before it turns green and the round resets — wait for the green light.

TIPS & STRATEGY

  • The green light fires after a random delay of roughly 1.2 to 4.2 seconds, so you can't time it in advance — react to the color change itself, not to a count in your head.
  • Tapping even a moment before it turns green counts as 'Too soon' and resets the round, so resist the urge to pre-fire on a long wait.
  • Lower is better: your score is the millisecond gap between the green flash and your tap, so the leaderboard ranks the fastest, smallest numbers first.
  • Stay loose and hover ready — most people land in the 200–300 ms range, and getting under 200 ms takes a relaxed, primed hand rather than a tense one.

ABOUT

Reaction Rush measures how quickly you respond to a visual cue, in milliseconds (ms). A typical human reaction time is around 200–300 ms, and anything under 200 ms is excellent. Your best time is saved on your device, and the fastest players make the global TOP 20 leaderboard.

FAQ

How do you play Reaction Rush?
Tap, click, or press the spacebar to start, then wait through the red screen and tap the instant it flips to green. Your reaction time in milliseconds is measured and shown the moment you tap.
What makes Reaction Rush tricky?
The wait before the green light is randomized between about 1.2 and 4.2 seconds, so you can never predict the exact moment. If you tap while it's still red you get a 'Too soon' and the round restarts, which punishes jumping the gun.
How is my result scored?
Your result is the number of milliseconds between the screen turning green and your tap, where a lower number is better. There's no point total — each round simply records that single reaction time, and your fastest run is your best score.
What's a good score on this reaction time test?
On this reaction time test a typical human result lands around 200–300 ms, and anything under 200 ms is excellent. The game even labels sub-180 ms taps as 'superhuman' reflexes.
Is Reaction Rush free to play?
Yes, it's completely free and runs in your browser with no install and no signup. Your best (fastest) time is saved on your device, and the quickest players reach the global TOP 20 leaderboard.
