Number Hunt — Schulte Table

HOW TO PLAY

  1. Press Start — or the spacebar — to begin. The timer starts immediately.
  2. A 5×5 grid is filled with the numbers 1 to 25 in random spots.
  3. Tap (or click) the numbers in order: 1, then 2, then 3… up to 25.
  4. A wrong tap adds a 2-second penalty. The lower your final time, the better.

TIPS & STRATEGY

  • Fix your gaze on the center of the 5x5 grid and use your peripheral vision to spot the next number, instead of darting your eyes across every cell — that's the core of the Schulte Table drill.
  • Hunt only for the single next number you need; ignoring all the other digits keeps your search focused and far faster than scanning the whole board each time.
  • A wrong tap silently adds 2 seconds to your time, so it's better to be sure before you tap than to guess and rack up penalties.
  • Numbers you've already cleared dim out as you progress, so let that fading shrink your search area down to the remaining cells.

ABOUT

Number Hunt is a classic Schulte-table focus drill. Your eyes have to scan the whole 5×5 grid to find each next number, which trains visual attention and peripheral vision. Your best time is saved on your device, and the fastest times make the global TOP 20 leaderboard.

FAQ

How do you play Number Hunt?
A 5x5 grid is filled with the numbers 1 to 25 in random spots, and you tap them in order — 1, then 2, then 3, all the way to 25. The timer starts the moment the round begins.
What kind of skill does Number Hunt train?
It's a classic Schulte Table focus exercise: because each next number can be anywhere, your eyes have to scan the whole grid, which trains visual attention and peripheral vision. Keeping a steady central gaze is the trick experts use.
How does scoring work and when does a run end?
The run ends the instant you tap 25, the final number, and your score is your total elapsed time. A lower time is better, and a wrong tap adds a 2-second penalty to that time.
What happens if I tap the wrong number?
Nothing breaks — the wrong tile just flashes and 2 seconds are added to your time, and the number you actually need stays the same. You simply keep hunting for the correct next number.
Is Number Hunt free to play?
Yes, it's completely free and runs right in your browser with no install and no signup. Your best time is saved on your device.
