TIPS & STRATEGY

A clue equal to or near the grid width fills almost the whole line. A row clue of 5 on a 5-wide grid fills every square, which instantly pins five columns for you.
Cross-reference rows against columns. Once a row forces a square to be filled, that column's clue often resolves another square — alternate between the two directions instead of guessing.
Use Mark mode to flag the squares you've proven empty. Visually ruling cells out keeps you from re-checking the same dead ends and makes the remaining runs obvious.
