Lumen Pen — Territory Capture Game

HOW TO PLAY

  1. Press Start Cutting to open a 60-second territory run.
  2. Choose ROW CUT or COL CUT, then tap any cell on the lane you want to seal.
  3. A clean lane turns into safe neon territory. If a roaming spark is on that lane, the cut fails and you lose one shield.
  4. Claim at least 78% of the board or survive until the timer ends; higher claim, spare shields, and remaining time improve your score.

TIPS & STRATEGY

  • Cut behind a spark, not in front of it. A spark that just left a lane gives you a short safe window before it can bounce back.
  • The border starts safe, so early row cuts near the middle usually claim more useful space than trimming only the edge.
  • Switch modes often. If the row lanes are crowded, a column cut may still be clean and can trap sparks away from future targets.
  • Do not chase 100% territory. Once you reach the target, spare shields and time are worth points too, so finishing clean can beat a risky final cut.

ABOUT

Lumen Pen is a territory capture game about reading moving danger before you draw a decisive line. Instead of solving a static board, you watch sparks drift through an open field and choose the safest row or column to seal. Every clean cut compresses the unsafe space into a brighter neon frame, while a careless cut costs a shield. The run is short, mobile-friendly, and scored by claimed territory, shield bonus, and remaining time.

FAQ

How do you play Lumen Pen?
Pick row or column mode, then tap a lane to draw a neon cut. If no spark is on that lane, the whole lane becomes safe territory; if a spark crosses it, you lose a shield.
What is a territory capture game?
A territory capture game asks you to turn unsafe space into controlled space while avoiding moving threats. In Lumen Pen, each row or column cut expands your safe territory and raises your claim percentage.
How is the score calculated?
Your score combines claimed territory, spare shields, and a small remaining-time bonus. A run that reaches the target with clean cuts will usually beat a reckless run that wastes shields.
Why did my cut fail?
A cut fails when one of the roaming sparks is currently sitting on the row or column you selected. Wait for the spark to move or switch to the other cut direction.
Is Lumen Pen free to play?
Yes. Lumen Pen is free in your browser with no install and no signup, and your best territory capture score is saved locally on your device.
